Founder of organization

Under our CLE program leadership development enhances the student’s ability to lead, guide, and influence peers. It involves building skills, knowledge, and competencies that empower students to effectively manage a team, confront challenges and drive collective success. Leadership development focuses on training, mentoring, and practical experiences designed to cultivate essential leadership qualities such as strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and emotional intelligence.

OUR BEGINNING

Character Education Foundation (CEF) was established in 2016 as a UK-registered charitable foundation (CIO). Born from a vision to promote authentic Islamic education, CEF began its journey with a focus on the Qur’an and Qur’anic Arabic. We started by developing structured curricula and teacher training programs for schools and learning centres. Since then, we’ve continued to grow, supporting educators and learners with high-quality, values-based educational resources.

Context & Rationale

Rural AJK snapshot:

  • 4.36 M people, 1 771 villages; ≈2 450 residents and ≈340 households per village (7.2 people/household).
  • Literacy is high (74 %), yet per-capita income hovers near USD 1 500 (≈£1 200) — signalling human-capital potential but limited economic mobility.
  • CEF has been working in schools and communities with its unique and effective programmes for teaching of Qur’an & Sunnah and Character Education from last 8 years.
  • Recently CEF has initiated a Programme under the banner of CLE – Citizenship, Leadership and Entrepreneurship, that will is in process of piloting in Leepa, Dhirkot and Islamgarh Mirpur.
  • CEF UK will channel £1000 / month into Village Development Councils (VDCs) to deliver CLE clusters: Character Education, Leadership skills, Entrepreneurship training.
